Parking

Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske

Car parking on this site can be congested. Patient and visitors do, therefore, need to allow plenty of time to park before their appointment. If you have difficulty finding a space when you arrive at the hospital, please ask one of the car parking hosts, who will try their best to help.

The main car park to the front of the Trelawny Wing entrance uses a ‘pay on foot’ system. This means that drivers collect a ticket as they enter the car park and keep it with them during their visit. At the end of the visit, and before returning to the car, the ticket needs to be placed into one of the payment machines within the car parks. These machines will advise you how much you need to pay. The payment machines can provide change.

The car park outside the Tower Block entrance operates a ‘pay and display’ system. The pay and display machines is located outside the ‘Play for Life’ garden.

There are “dropping off” points and parking for the disabled close to all three main entrances: Trelawny Wing, Tower Block and the Princess Alexandra Wing. These are for short stays only. Visitors are requested to park in one of the main car parks if they are staying with a patient after dropping them off.
Car parking charges for the Treliske site are as follows:

Up to 2 hours: £2.40
2 – 4 hours: £4.80
4 – 6 hours: £7.20
6 – 24 hours: £12.10

Concessionary tickets are available for long-term patients and visitors:

5-day tickets: £15.83
7-day tickets: £22.66
Monthly tickets: £36.19

If purchasing a concessionary long-term ticket, please obtain a form from the ward/ department you are visiting.

The ‘Park for Truro’ park and ride site is based 1½ miles to the west of the hospital at Threemilestone. All Park & Ride buses come through the hospital site, providing a quick and efficient way of parking and accessing the hospital site. The site is open from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday, and the buses run every ten minutes during peak times and every 15 minutes at all other times. Daily tickets cost £1.80p. For more information visit www.parkfortruro.org.uk or call them on 01872 279270.

The provision of more parking spaces at West Cornwall is restricted due to planning regulations. We are also required to demonstrate that we are encouraging the use of other means of transport.

In the longer term, plans to enable more outpatient clinics and day case surgery at other locations around the county will mean that we can ease the demand for car parking on our hospital sites.
