There are parking spaces designated for blue badge holders near to the hospital entrances. Parking in these designated spaces is free.

There is a flat rate charge of £2 at Orsett Hospital.

How do I pay for parking?

As you enter any of the visitor car parks you will receive a ticket at the entrance barrier. Take this ticket with you.
When you return to your car, first go to the pay station and insert your ticket.
If you have parked for less than 30 minutes your ticket will be validated for exit and you will not have to pay. Your ticket will be returned to you.
If you have parked for longer than 30 minutes, you will be asked to pay depending on how long you have parked. The pay station accepts notes and coins and change is given. Your ticket will be returned to you.
Please take your ticket with you and insert it into the machine at the exit barrier.

Concessionary Free Parking

To assist patients, relatives and carers who need to visit the hospital regularly and frequently, concessionary free parking is available in certain circumstances.

Who is eligible for concessionary free parking?

You may be able to park for free if: –

It has been two weeks or more since the start of treatment or admission to hospital, and
You are a patient with a long-term condition needing regular treatment, for example if you need to visit the hospital daily for more than a week or weekly for more than two months.
You are the main visitor to a patient, and visit the hospital more than once a day for three days or longer.*
You are the main visitor to a patient, and visit the hospital every day for more than a week.*
You are the main relative, carer or friend of a patient who is critically ill, and visit them daily.*
or:

You are the parent of a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or the parent/carer of a child staying on the children’s ward or receiving regular hospital treatment.

By Car

Basildon

From A13

Take the A176 turn off (Five Bells roundabout). Take the Basildon exit (follow the hospital A&E sign).

Continue on this road. Basildon University Hospital is on your left hand side.

From A127

Take the Basildon (A176) turn off towards Basildon Town Centre.

The route to the hospital is clearly marked with red hospital A&E signs.

From A12

Take the A130 turn off towards Basildon. Continue on the A130 until you reach Sadlers Farm roundabout.

Take the second exit onto the A13. Take the A176 turn off (Five Bells roundabout).

Take the Basildon exit (follow the hospital A&E sign).

Continue on this road. Basildon University Hospital is on your left hand side.

Orsett

From A128 (from Brentwood):

Turn right at Prince Charles Avenue (at the Orsett Hall junction).

Continue to the end of the road.

Turn left onto Rectory Road.

Continue to a mini roundabout. T

urn right into school lane.

Orsett Hospital is on your right hand side.

From A13 (Southend-bound):

Take the Brentwood exit off the A13.

Then take the fifth exit off the roundabout onto the A1013 (Stanford Road).

Take first right on to Rectory Road.

Take first left onto School Lane.

Orsett Hospital is on your right hand side.

From A13 (London-bound):

Take the Brentwood exit off the A13.

Then take the third exit off the roundabout onto the A1013 (Stanford Road).

Take first right on to Rectory Road.

Take first left onto School Lane.

Orsett Hospital is on your right hand side.

St Andrew’s Centre 

Take the B1007 exit (Junction 16) off the A12.

Take the Billericay exit onto Stock Road – B1007.

At next roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue on Stock Road.

St. Andrew’s Centre is just over a mile on your left hand side.

Take bus 25, 100 or 200 from Basildon Town Centre bus station to Basildon University Hospital

From Chelmsford – From Chelmsford bus station, take bus 100 (towards Lakeside – Thurrock) to St. John’s School, Billericay. St. Andrew’s Centre is approximately a three minute walk from here.

From Grays – From Socketts Heath(Outside Oak Pub, Love Lane), take bus 100 (towards Chelmsford Town Centre) to St. John’s School, Billericay. St. Andrew’s Centre is approximately a three minute walk from here.

By Train

Basildon

London Fenchurch Street to Southend Central (operator C2C) go to Basildon station

The hospital is a 15 minute walk from the station (uphill).
Buses 21 and 100, stop at Basildon Town Centre bus station, (across the road from the rail station).
Both buses stop within the grounds of Basildon University Hospital.

Orsett

London Fenchurch Street to Southend Central (operator C2C)

Take the train to Grays rail station and take bus 200 (towards Basildon) to Orsett Hospital; or take the train to Stanford-le-Hope rail station and take bus 200 (towards Lakeside) to Orsett Hospital.

St Andrew’s Centre

London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria (operator National Express East Anglia)

Take the train to Billericay rail station. St. Andrew’s Centre is approximately a 10 minute uphill walk from the station.
